CLOSURE UPDATES

On Sunday, March 29, a Legends Casino Hotel team member notified management that a doctor advised self-quarantine due to a presumptive positive diagnosis. That diagnosis was confirmed via a positive test result. Our thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery are with the team member and family at this time.

The team member’s last shift was the swing/grave shift beginning at 7:45pm on Sunday, March 15 rotating through craps and card games. Legends Casino Hotel officially closed at 12:01 am on Wednesday, March 18 and conducted a deep cleaning of the entire property on March 18 and 19.

Due to current Stay Home Stay Healthy orders of the Yakama Nation, Yakima County, and the state of Washington, Legends Casino Hotel will continue to remain closed.

An Update from Legends Casino Hotel…For Our Guests

In accordance with the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” decrees issued by the Yakama Nation, Governor Inslee and the county; Legends Casino Hotel will remain closed through at least April 8th.  No re-opening date has been set and it’s possible the closure time could be extended.

The Yakama Nation and Legends management continue to communicate daily with other state tribes, casino properties, state and local governments to receive the latest information and monitor the crisis level of the Coronavirus situation.  Through this seamless coordinated effort that includes medical and health department experts, Legends will only re-open when it is absolutely safe to do so.

Of paramount concern to the Yakama Nation and Legends management is the health, safety and well-being of our team members, loyal guests, community and players club members. 

Below are answers to some general questions we have been receiving.  Check back to our website to receive updates and the latest information on our re-opening date.

Is there anyone on-property at Legends Casino Hotel during this shutdown?

Yes.  We have a gallant, dedicated crew of mostly Legends Security staff staying at Legends 24-7.  The first shift of personnel is working through their two-week residency now.  Then a second shift will move in for the next 14 days.  Food and Beverage and Hotel are providing meal and housekeeping services and a small contingent of engineers and environmental services staff are keeping the property operating and clean.  Yakama Tribal Police also has a visible and comforting presence as they regularly patrol the grounds.

What happens to my players club rewards and benefits, such as Xtra Rewards (free play)?

No one will lose any of their rewards or benefits.  For instance, Xtra Rewards earned in March and April will be extended once we re-open.  Gift Tuesdays will be rescheduled later during the year.  Anyone with a birthday in March and April will also be able to receive their free buffet in May and possibly June.  Many of you have already received your April newsletter.  Those benefits you earned will still be valid and extended into May.

What if I have a hotel reservation during this time or need to cancel a reservation?

Obviously, all hotel reservations during the closure have been automatically cancelled.  Guests will not incur any charges for this inconvenience.  If you need to cancel future reservations, you can notify us by email or call (877) 726-6311.

What’s the status of upcoming entertainment in the Event Center?

All shows through May are being rescheduled.  Tesla is now slated for September 19th and the Commodores will now appear on October 10th.  We are still working with Tyler Henry’s management group for a new appearance date for him.  In the meantime, if you bought tickets online through Ticketmaster and can’t make the rescheduled show, you can contact Ticketmaster and receive a full refund.  Please be patient, however, since the Ticketmaster customer service folks are besieged by calls from fans of cancelled and postponed shows across the country.

Legends Casino Hotel will temporarily close beginning at 12:01AM on March 18. It is anticipated that it will remain closed through March 31 at which time the status will be re-evaluated.

“The Yakama Nation and Legends Casino Hotel have been in constant communication with local, state, and national health officials,” explained Yakama Nation Chairman Delano Saluskin, “Each step we’ve made—including the upcoming closure—has been for the health and safety of our guests, team members, and their families. We understand and regret the impact this will have on both our team members and our community.” Legends Casino Hotel team members will be paid during the closure from March 18 through March 31.

Updates regarding the reopening will be available on our website https://legendscasino.com/legends-public-announcement/. The closure is the entire Legends Casino Hotel grounds, including the casino, hotel, food outlets, event center and childcare building.
