After extensive planning, property preparations, team member training, and discussions with local health experts, the Yakama Nation and Legends Casino Hotel Management will welcome guests back to the property as of 10:00am on Thursday, August 13. Guests returning will appreciate a different experience designed to place both team and guest health first. Our new hours will be daily from 10:00am to 2:00am.

Legends Casino Hotel will require all guests and its team members to wear face masks.  Not all facilities and services will be available, including valet parking, poker and the buffet.  Capacity inside the casino will be limited to 50% occupancy, which could mean extended wait times to enter the building on our re-opening day.

Legends will temporarily be a smoke free environment, but will have designated smoking areas located outside.

We have and will be posting videos to show you what changes you can expect at our property; both here on our website and on our social media channels.

Please continue to check our website and our Facebook page prior to each visit. As we have all learned through the COVID-19 pandemic, operations can change daily, and we will continue to monitor the situation to make changes to our procedures as necessary for the health and safety of the community.

Welcome back!

We’ve received many questions requesting an opening date, but we will remain closed. We can tell you that Legends Casino Hotel Management and the Yakama Nation will reevaluate the opening status of Legends on July 15, and we will provide the next update after that date.

The pandemic continues to spread unchecked in our community. Management and tribal leaders in conjunction with health officials are actively working to reduce the number of cases in our valley. We encourage each of you to mask up when in public and practice social distancing to help our community recover. We look forward to seeing you when the time is right to reopen.

June 10, 2020

Legends Casino Hotel and the Yakama Nation will extend the property closure. Rather than offering a reassessment or reopening date at this time, we are preparing our team and the facility in anticipation of reopening at the earliest date possible. Soon, we will train our team members on new COVID-19 Safety Training and operational procedures required for opening.

We are assembling new fixtures such as plexiglass shields to protect both team members and guests to provide a safer experience. We have placed social distancing place markers and reminders throughout the facility.

These represent just a few of the changes we’re making to serve our team members and our guests when we reopen. The list is comprehensive reaching every part of the property, and we’re preparing now to ensure we can move to swiftly reopen and welcome guests back to the property when health officials in collaboration with our team determine it’s time.

Each step of the way, we reiterate the desire of both the Yakama Nation and Legends Casino Management to put the health and safety of our team members, our guests, and our community first. As cases in the communities surrounding us continue to rise, we continue to consult with area health experts, and we will again extend the closure to at least June 7, 2020. The date will continue to be evaluated based on guidance from both tribal and regional health officials about what is best for our community.

Last week, select members of our team visited the property to assess requirements for our reopening, and our task force continues to work diligently on the reopening plan and procedures so that we may welcome both our valued guests and team members back soon. Watch our website and social media channels for further updates including videos previewing how your experience at our property will change.

We made the difficult decision early to support Governor Inslee’s stay-home order and close Legends Casino Hotel which is an essential tribal operation that keeps many of our other vital programs running. The Yakama Nation and Legends Casino Hotel management continue to be dedicated to supporting the health and safety of team members, our communities, and our neighbors, and that is why we will extend our property’s closure through at least May 18. We are still following guidelines from the CDC as well as local and state authorities and will share information on Legends Casino Hotel reopening once it becomes available.

A joint statement from the Yakama Nation and Legends Casino Hotel Management: Due to the extended closure of Legends Casino Hotel resulting from our desire to keep our team, our guests, and our community safe, the majority of our team members transitioned to standby status on April 9, 2020. From March 18, 2020 through April 8, 2020, all of our team members received administrative leave. Shifting to standby status ensures that our team members can use paid time off if they choose, maintain their health insurance benefits, and provides the option to apply for unemployment. Standby status reminds our team of their value to the organization. When we have a date for reopening, managers need only contact the team with a return-to-work date. Based on the current Stay Home Stay Healthy end date of May 4, it is our intention to return 100% of our team members upon reopening. We want to remind the community to please–Stay Home, Stay Healthy. We look forward to working together with our team members and creating memories with our guests again soon.

With COVID-19, otherwise known as the Coronavirus, continuing to spread locally, statewide and nationally, the Yakama Nation Tribal Council made a decision to continue its Stay Home, Stay Healthy policy and extend the temporary closure of Legends Casino Hotel through May 4th.This action follows Washington Governor Jay Inslee’s continuance of the state’s Stay Home order and for all non-essential businesses to remain closed through May 4th. While we know extending the temporary closing of Legends is disappointing to our loyal players and visitors, we remain committed to doing the right thing to protect our team members, guests and community. Please check back at this website for any future updates.  In the meantime, to our extended Legends family: Stay safe and stay home.  We miss you!

That diagnosis was confirmed via a positive test result. Our thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery are with the team member and family at this time.

The team member’s last shift was the swing/grave shift beginning at 7:45pm on Sunday, March 15 rotating through craps and card games. Legends Casino Hotel officially closed at 12:01 am on Wednesday, March 18 and conducted a deep cleaning of the entire property on March 18 and 19.

Due to current Stay Home Stay Healthy orders of the Yakama Nation, Yakima County, and the state of Washington, Legends Casino Hotel will continue to remain closed.
